Autism Treatment FAQs

Your most important questions about MeRT and autism, answered.

At Pulse Braincare, we understand how complex and personal it is to find the right treatment for your child with autism spectrum disorder.

That’s why we offer MeRT, a safe, noninvasive, and personalized therapy designed to help regulate brain activity and improve quality of life.

We’ve created this Autism Treatment FAQs page to answer common questions and help you make informed decisions.

Understanding MeRT

  • MeRT stands for Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy. It combines EEG brain mapping and targeted magnetic stimulation to help improve communication between different parts of the brain. We tailor treatment to each person based on their unique brainwave patterns.

  • MeRT is personalized, while traditional TMS typically uses the same protocol for everyone. MeRT begins with brainwave analysis to guide the individualized treatment.

  • Yes. MeRT is noninvasive and drug-free. It has been safely used with children, teens, and adults with autism and other neurological conditions.

  • Age eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. We evaluate each child based on developmental factors, medical history, and EEG results to decide if MeRT is the right fit.

How Our Autism Treatment Works

  • We begin with a qEEG and EKG to map your child’s brain activity and heart rhythms. This data helps us build a treatment plan tailored specifically to their brain.

  • Most protocols last 4 to 6 weeks, with daily sessions Monday through Friday. Each session takes about 30–45 minutes.

  • The stimulation is gentle and feels like a tapping sensation on the scalp. It’s not painful and is usually well-tolerated.

  • Absolutely! We encourage parents to stay nearby and support their child throughout the session.

  • Yes! MeRT can work alongside speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, and more. Many families report that MeRT enhances the benefits of other interventions.

What to Expect

  • Many families notice improvements within the first few weeks. These changes may include better sleep, increased eye contact, more verbal communication, or reduced anxiety.

  • Results vary, but parents often report increased focus, calmer behavior, more social engagement, and emotional regulation. Every child responds differently.

  • Yes. MeRT is designed to support long-term improvement. Some families choose to return for periodic maintenance sessions, especially during major developmental changes.

  • We understand that life happens. If treatment is interrupted, we’ll work with you to adjust the schedule and support your child’s continued care.
